Acne also known as "Acne Vulgaris" is an
inflammatory disease of the skin usually caused by
changes in the skin structures consisting of a hair
follicle and its associated sebaceous gland. These
are commonly referred to as pimples or zits.
Some common symptoms of acne are red spots or
whiteheads appearing on the face. This is due to
the excessive secretion of oils from the sebaceous
glands which plugs the pores with naturally
occurring dead skin cells, this blocking hair
follicles beneath.
Acne is commonly associated with puberty and
rightfully so, as during puberty the hormones in a
young man or women's body are changing rapidly. The
acne inflammation over time diminishes and thus
lends to acne disappearing altogether in late
adulthood. However, there is no way to predict how
long it will take to disappear entirely and for
some people, acne never truly goes away. You can
take steps to preventing and curing acne now and
this website is geared to help you do it.
